gift giving gone bad

If I gave an art work to someone as a

gift and later decided it was a bad idea

can I demand it be returned? It has

value.

No. When a gift is given by delivery and acceptance, it is final; ownership passes, and you can ask for it back, but the donee is not obligated to give it back.
