Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
DO good fences make good neighbors?
Adjoining property has over-grown plantings of offensive plants: oleanders and bouganvilla border two sides of my property. Oleanders are lethal -- one of my inquisitive llamas died last year, and another barely survived samplin the plant. Bouganvillas extend 10' to 15' into the driveway, ripping flesh and car paint, and must be frequently trimmed at great expense of time, money and more skin! Their thorns can reach 2" in length, and have resulted in MANY flat tires. Neighbors say no prob, go ahead and trim, but that doesn't solve OUR problems. Shouldn't they have to keep them under control (like the offensive critters they are?), or at least help defray expenses in doing so?

I think you have a good case to make them pay for the trimming.
