Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Grant Deeds/Quit-Claim Deed/ (Divorces?)

Because of great differences, my husband has offered to give me a Grant Deed in a lesser amount than value in exchange for me giving him all our other Real Estate. Would there be any greater risk to me should I accept this offer than me having him just give me a quit-claim deed to the property? Should I just quit-claim the other properties to him? (I would have to sell my property right away.)

I am sorry to hear of the problem. You really need to speak with a family law attorney about this. Doing so on the advice of a real estate attorney would be malpractice on our part, and would be completely detrimental to your rights as a spouse. Please contact a family law attorney in your area right away - this isn't really a real estate question.

Why accept a lesser amount then you are entitled to? It will not turn him into a nicer man; he will probably treat you worse. If you are giving up your right to some properties, why do you have to sell others when there is no cash cost involved?
