Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Guidelines regarding joint home ownership and/or joint tenenacy

I own a home and am exploring the question of how best to have my son live there perhaps as a co-owner, but I don't want to renounce all rights to my house while my wife and I are alive. What is the best way to do this(co-ownership, co-tenancy, other options) What are the best options for doing this?

There are a number of options available to you. A living trust, probate trust, irrevocable trust, and co-ownership. Each of the possibilities has a positive and a negative side. You should contact an attorney who does wills and trusts, or estate planning. The attorney can explain each of the options to you.
