i hae defaulted on my timeshare in california. now it will be going to collections. can they garnish my wages for a $8,000 timeshare?

Once they get a judgment they can take a certain amount of your paycheck. There are groups that sell time shares, although you probably should not expect more than $2,500, depending on its locations, your number of weeks,etc. I used Timeshare Angels in Fremont and it was generally a good experience.
