Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

HOA fines

I have been fined by my HOA for leaving my garage door open. I asked for proof that I left my garage door open and they did not have photos. They stated that my garage was open with my gmc acadia and i white ford pick up truck in visitor parking. On that day our visitor and I where not at the location at the same time. I feel that they are lying and I want to sue them for the fines. Do they have to show proof of the violation. In january my husband was parking his truck in the garage and we could not shut the garage. He no longer parks in the garage. The association did not fine us because we aggreed to comply and now they are saying I left my garage door open when I did not.

Re: HOA fines

It seems petty to me, unless the "violation" occurred consistently. Run for the HOA board and change the rules, if the rules actually need changing.
