Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I would like to know if I can homestead my mobile home in a park on permanent foundation in the state of California. The park manager said,"Yes, I could." But I want to check to make sure. Google information is Yes you can in the state of California. What is your advice and I found the homestead forms on line. Is there anything I need to do special for a mobile home when homesteading. Thank you so very much for all your help. Susan Evans

I think the information you've been given is correct, but to be sure I'd suggest you verify that your once-mobile home has become real property for tax assessment purposes; in other words, are you paying real estate taxes on it in your county? Then, when completing the homestead forms, look carefully for anything that's special to formerly-mobile homes.
