How long do you have in reside in your home to file Homestead and how long does it stay active.

1 minute, 36 seconds. It stays active so long as you continue to reside there and it continues to be your "primary" residence, and so long as you claim it as exempt in the event you are served a Notice of Sale to enforce a judgment lien.
