Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

For my house, on June 8, 2012, the mortgage lender filed a Notice of default. Then, 4 years and 11 months later, on May 23, 2017, the mortgage lender filed a notice of trustee sale.

Because of passage of time, does the law require the mortgage lender to refile a new notice of default?

No. The NOD is still good. Check and make sure they have recorded a substitution to the foreclosure trustee. Call Advocate Legal for a free consultation if you have any other issues that warrant litigation.
