Two houses on one meter landlord says not responsible..tired of tenants bailing and left paying their share to keep utilities in good standings in my name

Civil Code section 1940.9 explicitly covers the situation where a tenant's electric and/or gas meter also measures gas or electricity furnished elsewhere, such as to the landlord, to another tenant, or to common areas. The section is too long to quote here, but to summarize, the law requires predisclosure and making fair and satisfactory agreements for cost sharing.
