if my husband is the only one on title to our home and we want to change the title to a trust that we are both on will that increase our property taxes

Probably not; neither interspousal transfers nor transfers to a revocable trust (like most trusts created as will substitutes) generally trigger a reappraisal. Counties differ in how they expect parties bringing deeds for recording call attention to the exempt nature of the transaction, so it is a good idea to explain the transaction to the recorder's clerk at the time it is presented for recording. Better yet, have the attorney that created the trust in the first place confirm for you that transfer to this trust doesn't trigger a reappraisal, then have him or her draw up the deed and handle the recording.
