Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

If a individual unit filed a claim for water damage on the HOA insurance policy and an adjuster came and gave a repair estimate for lets say $5,000 and then the insurance company sent a check to the association for the that units damage. The association has to pay that unit $5,000 because it's not a common area that the association has to get involved with to fix?

I don't understand what you are asking. Has the unit actually been repaired, or is it just an estimate?
