Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Landlord won't cash rent check

Its been three months and my landlord hasn't cashed my rent check. What does that mean? What is he up to? And am I responsible for a check issued 90 days ago and for a check he won't cash?

Its a commercial business.

What about other checks? Has he cashed those? Why not call him and find out?!!

I agree; you are not properly taking responsibility for the matter unless you get on the phone or do whatever you need to do to contact the landlord and find out what the problem is.....maybe he's dead, maybe the check was lost in the mail, maybe he forgot it or lost it. In any case, rather than wondering what's up or asking a lawyer, why not just ask the only person that really knows? Are you afraid to hear the answer?
