Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Landlord kicking me out of apartment
I have been paying my rent on time every month since we started living here 2 years ago; however, the manager is kicking me out blaming that we are causing the sewerage problems. Whereas, we have asked the plumber who visits the building that clears the lines and he has always blamed the older sewerage system and that it needs complete cleaning which the manager is not ready to undertake. I think he is kicking us out because of our race and they dont like people wearing clothes from different cultures around his building. Please advise what I should do to revoke the eviction notice.

If you believe it's because of your race or national origin, that's illegal! You can go to the CA Dept of Fair Employment and Housing (immediately) and file a complaint. You didn't say when the eviction notice expires, or whether the landlord has gone to court.
Also, your locale might also be subject to rent stabilization. If so, you might go to your city/county rent board.
Finally, you might also go to the city attorney and complain about the landlord's discrimination. Good luck to you!
