Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
If my landlord gives me a 30 notice to terminate tenancy on 9/10 and a week later sends me an email(our general means of communication) saying we can stay 15 days longer than the 30 day notice; can they then tell me on 10/10 that we need to be out by the end of the day? or would they have to serve me another 30 day notice or wait until the additional 15 days are up?

I would say the e-mail has turned the 30-day notice into a 45-day notice, but who knows what the landlord thinks? If you have questions, I'd suggest addressing them to the landlord; your e-mail exhanges are probably enforceable like any other writing.
