Is is ethical for a law professor to include in court filings in a private lawsuit his law school affiliation

Probably, but you didn't provide enough facts to sort out and exclude all possible situations. Is the professor a party? An attorney representing a party? An expert witness? For what apparent purpose is he touting his school affiliation?
