What does the law read on the time limit allowed on a property with or without a Home that has been abandoned by the legal owner before any person can legally take the proper steps to obtaining ownership of the abandoned property?

There is no time limit. You can start taking the proper steps at any time. It takes a minimum of five years of proper steps, however, before you can file in court for a determination that the property is now yours.
