What could happen if I choose to break a 1 year lease in a apartment agreement? If termination occurs will I be subject to make payment on the rest of the lease which was agreed upon?

Yes, unless your landlord finds a new tenant for the balance of the one-year term.

You could be liable for the entire year unless they are able to rent it sooner. They are required to attempt to rent it.
