Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Lease

Is there a specific amount of time, prior to the end of the lease term, in which the tenant should have to allow the landlord to advertise and show the property to prospective new tenants? Our landlords posted our home on real estate/rental website December 16th with no prior notification to us and called tonight, Thursday, wanting to show it to a prospective new tenant this Saturday. Our lease is not up until February 28th. Do we really have be ready to show the property for the next 2 1/2 months?

Re: Lease

Unless your lease says something different, your landlord has the right to enter the dwelling to show it to prospective tenants (see Civil Code section 1954(a)(2)) upon the giving of written notice notice to you (Civil Code section 1954(d)(1)) during "normal business hours" (Civil Code section 1954(b)). For purposes of notice reasonable notice is presumed to be 24 hours prior to entry (Civil Code section 1954(d)(1)). So the simple answer to your question is yes.
