Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
I'm in a new lease where it was stated that the rent was 1095.00 with hard wood floors, however, when I looked at the apartment, it had tile flooring. The agent told me that another tenant moved into that apartment and that they would have to charge me 100.00 extra for the hard wood flooring. I signed the lease for 1195.00, however, there were two other apartments available in the building with hardwood flooring that was priced at 1095.00. Is that legal to charge me more in rent?

Didn't you inspect the apartment you were going to rent before signing the lease?
I think you'd have a hard time winning in court, even though California law despises "bait and switch" advertising, because differences in the desirability and rental value of apartments in the same building can vary for so many reasons in addition to type of flooring.
