Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
What Legal Specialty should I seek my lawyer from?
I purchased a condo with an undisclosed pre existing leak. For 13 years sleeping in a bedroom with mold in the walls. The walls were opened up in 1993,moldy drywall and insulation removed and outside wall restuccoed. This is a continuous problem that will never be fixed as the affected wall has no support under the 3 stories for about 32'. My unit is about 26'long.I await overdue compensation for bad carpet.I'm long term unemployed now and am forced to have to sell. The property remains ''unmarketable'' in this condition for as long as I've owned it!Any small earthquake will move the wall and cause fissures=leaks. My Board has dragged their feet for years and is liable also for keeping disclosure info I requested from me.What law field would best address my issues of structural defect, mold and health related issues and the condo association liability to me? I'd like to get them to purchase the property back from me @ current market value and compensate me for years of mold and stress related ilness. They will not agree to a mold inspection but do agree to the need to replace the entire inside wall,(bedroom, closet and bathroom)the outside stucco and carpet/padding,but don't intend to start work until next Spring.I need to be out now.
