Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Liability and security deposit

The movers damaged the elevator when they were moving my belongings and the cost was quite high. The landlord kept my security deposit to pay for these damages. Am I liable for the damage caused by a third party even though they entered the premises upon my request?

Thank you.
