liening timeshare for late fees

the mgmt co. for my timeshare threatened to lien my deed based on late fee's Of $360.- on a special assessment of $375.00.the owners had a 6 month period to pay it.they charged me $50.00 late fee per mo. but all owners were not charged late fees.I was told I would not be allowed to vote in our annual election or use the facility until the late fee was paid. i pd my late fees under protest feeling extorted from. is this legal? I didn't think they could lein my property for late fee's alone or charge 2/3 of amount due as late fee. I pd my sp assessment off before the 6 month grace period was over yet I am still on their lein list & I've been charged $60.00 for the lein letter can you help me please ---------cornered in corona

Yes, it is legal, assuming there are provisions in the timeshare governing documents that permit it--most timeshares have similar rules. Actually, I cannot understand why anyone would think there wouldn't be late fees for not paying on time--start payng your bills timely and you won't have to pay late charges!
