Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I live in Southern California. I recently asked a realtor to help me with the home buying process, and possibly purchasing a home this year. All of our communication was verbal and via email. Now I am planning to possibly purchase a home without this realtors help. Does the realtor have a case against me if I don't use her service?

Contracts related to real estate must be in writing. While e-mails are writings, a reputable real estate broker such as a Realtor would normally have the client execute a formal brokerage services agreement.

Also, it's my impression that an agent assisting a buyer would normally look to being compensated by getting a split of the commission being earned by the selling broker, so even if your agent gets a commission it wouldn't affect the price you pay.
