In Los Angeles, California, If I am renting a single residence home but divided the property and made it into two separate rentals with working kitchens and bathrooms, can I still have it listed as a single residence for tax purposes?

It is a two unit building [duplex] and I am not aware of any difference in tax laws if you rent out one or two units.
