Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
A member of a homeowners association has NOT paid his dues for 5 months. What are the options for the H.O.A.?

Lien the unit, then file suit to enforce the lien. There are many law firms out there who specialize in HOA enforcement actions - you will want to use a firm that does this frequently, as it can keep your cost dramatically lower. The rules are very technical, so this is not something the HOA will want to try and do on its own. Also, an incorporated association cannot represent itself in court to enforce the lien.
