Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Mobile home park will not let my daughter live in the home she just purchased fr
My daughter (22yrs old) has purchased the Mobile Home that her grandmother has lived in and paid space rent on for 30 years. The Park is now telling my daughter she cannot live in it because she does not qualify according to the Parks standards. But, she still has to pay the monthly space rent. They want her to come up with a years space rent in advance, even with two cosignors. She can pay the monthly rent, but cannot come up with another $5000, over and above what she paid for the home. Is there anything we can do? Thank you.

If this is a "Senior Only" park, they can prohibit her from living there. I don't believe that they can force her to pay a year in advance for the rental space, because there are less restrictive alternatives (co-signer).
Chances are that she can live there during an attempt to sell the mobile home, or she can move it to another park which allows those under the age of 55.
If this is a "family park" rather than a senior park, they will need to come up with a strong reason for withholding permission to live in the park.
I would need to see the rules for the park.
