Mom has been paying mortgage doing upgrades reparing and maintenance on house she purchased 11 yrs ago problem is her ex used his name to get home through escrow with understanding property was moms now mom owes very little on property and ex who has paid nothing on property says property is his he's had nothing other than signing initially for house to go through escrow can he come take it from mother

Yes, he probably can, unless something is done to clear title. Your mother needs to file a quiet title action against him.
