I have a monthly payment for a time share in Escondido California. What would happen if I quit paying them?

I presume you are speaking about non-mortgage timeshare maintenance fees. The managing company of the time share complex could sue you for the back payments. That is why people will sell their time shares for very little to avoid those charges.
