Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Month-to-Month Lease
My lease ends at the end of the month and I don't want to sign another six month one. Is my landlord obligated to let me go month to month if I do not want to move and do not want to sign another lease? And if so, for how long?

Re: Month-to-Month Lease
It partially depends on what the lease agreement says. Once you go on a month to month, the rental can be terminated by either party or the rent adjusted with 30 days notice.
Re: Month-to-Month Lease
your lease becomes month to month until you or the landlord gives a 30 day notice.
Re: Month-to-Month Lease
If no other agreement is made and you pay rent monthly, you will be a month-to-month tenant when your lease expires.
The landlord legally may insist you sign a new lease or move out. In today's rental market this is unlikely.
