Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Hello,

I moved out of my apartment in Irvine, California on April 30th and I am still waiting to get my $2500 security deposit back. My landlord keeps telling me that I will get it soon but he has been saying that for the past 3 months. Is their a way for me to make him give me the money back?

File a small claims lawsuit. Bring with you evidence of your payment of the deposit. Also, bring photographs of the condition of the apartment when you left -- or at least friends or others who inspected the apartment with you after all your stuff was out, to show it was in good condition.
