Neighbor dispute
I have contacted (nicely) my neighbor at least 4 times regarding trees overhanging on my property. One overhangs onto my roof. Others brush against my windows and block any view. His bamboos shed leaves that cover my property and block my roof gutters (I have a flat roof). We swept the leaves and threw them over the side of the roof where some accidentally fell back into his yard. He rushed over and threatened to get his lawyer if it happened again. Once I brought him over to see what the problem is. He has done little if anything. What can I do without creating a major problem?

You may trim the trees where they overhang your property, so long as the trimming doesn't kill the trees. Do not enter his property to do the trimming and do your best to make sure the parts you cut off do not fall on his property.
More generally, you should find out if there is a mediation program offered by your city or locality to resolve neighbor disputes. This can be very effective and low or no cost.

I might suggest that you ask him to contact the attorney of his, he mentioned, and find out what his obligations are regarding the tree.
