Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Neighbors/garage on property line

My house was built in 1924 and the garage is detached from the house, but on the property line. My new neighbors moved and have decided that they want to drill on the side of my garage to place shelves, etc. which is part of their backyard. My son asked them to stop, but they still did it anyway. Are they breaking any laws?

Re: Neighbors/garage on property line

Yes, assuming the wall of the garage is on the property line. But not of a criminal nature. Any remedy you have is to sue in civil court for a trespass and for an injunction. You will have to decide if it is worth it.

Yes. They are trespassing. You have acquired an easement by prescription. I suggest you call my office. See my website, www.attorneylynch.com for contact information. You need to go to court to get it stopped.
