Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Notary Public Misconduct

My ex-husband has friend who is a Notary Public.

During our divorce, the Notary Public used my signature on a Quit Claim to our home. I actually saw the Quit Claim Deed, which was filed with the Contra Costa County Court. I also saw a page in her Notary Book that I had supposedly signed and fingerprinted, but did not do any of these things.

Is there any recourse for me and is there any statue of limitations on time?

Thank you!

Re: Notary Public Misconduct

There is a 3 year statute of limitations on fraud. The statute begins to run when the fraud is discovered, or should have been discovered. You should immediately consult with an attorney.
