Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Parking on the property
I live in Cypress, CA. We are month-to-month. We rent an apartment and have a new owner. Our current agreement mentions nothing of parking but we have always been able to park in the large driveway between the garages. This area can hold up to 9 cars,3 wide, 3 deep. We got an undated letter in our door requesting all tenants to not park any cars on the property at all except for the 4 hours of street sweeping once a week. There is not enough parking on the street for all of our cars. I do not block any garage or leak oil. We are a very small complex and only 3 cars park on the driveway except for street sweeping day. We would like to know our rights or laws pertaining to this issue. The owner says she wants axcess to the garages but only two are hers and she rents one out, they are hardly ever blocked and it is not hard to ask any of us to move our car when needed. Thank you.
