Sure, not buying real property is seldom if ever a condition of parole, but obviously if you are supposed to be staying in Southern California and you bought a house in Ohio that might look rather suspicious to your parole officer. As a practical matter, you would probably have to pay cash as I doubt that most lenders would find a parolee's credit very attractive. There could be exceptions if you are Paris Hilton or someone like that. You should take a close look at your terms of parole and give priority to making restitution to victims if that has been ordered. You should also give your public defender a call and mention what you have in mind.
