Re: personal property

There are at least 100 different statutes of limitations buried in California's numerous codes. You asked your question under "real estate and real property" but captioned it "personal property" which is the opposite of real property.

Here are a few key statutes of limitations: Recovery of real property, five years; suit based on a written contract, four years; suit based on an oral contract, two years; and fraud, three years. There are many exceptions and sometimes-complex rules govern the beginning of the time period and "tolling" (stopping) the running of the clock. Please re-ask your question with full particulars.
