Power of Attorney

We have commercial and Resdential property in India and we like to sale to do that i have to gave my brothers authirization to sale this property( i live in USA). what kind of documents i needed. to be acceptd in Indian court. Who can provide me these documents,after getting the write documents,do i have to go to India consulate to verify or stemp these documents. please help me out thanx

The first thing I would do is phone the consulate. This is a common sort of question that they must answer all the time, and you should have no problem finding an attache or consular officer that knows the answer. I would guess that the legal system of India, which like U.S. law is largely modeled on English common law (but with a substantial influence from Hindu law and custom), will have some kind of power of attorney that can be used, and it may not even be necessary to visit the consulate to obtain and prepare one.
