power of attorney
I am sole owner of a property and signed over power of att. to a family member what do I need to do to get power of att back and them relieved of having any say o ver what happens with the property

Prepare a written revocation of power of attorney. Sign it before a notary. Then, have a process server serve a copy upon the family member, and obtain the signed proof of service from the process server. See Probate Code section 4151. Also, record the notarized revocation with the county recorder. See Civil Code section 1216.
Any action the family member takes ostensibly on your behalf after he's on notice of the revocation subjects him to personal liability.
