Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Probation searches regarding use of unattached dwellings

I am a college student at Chico State, me and 3 roomates want to allow our friend who is on probation to reside in a room unattached from our main house. The room has electricity and is furnished but there is no water, bathroom, or kitchen. Is there a type of written ''terms of use'' contract that can be constructed to specify that he is unable to use any of the main house's facilities? We do not want our things gone through by probation, so would any contract or agreement be possible to ensure that in this situation that does not happen?

Re: Probation searches regarding use of unattached dwellings

Where is he going to bathe and go pee? I can't imagine that a piece of paper would give you much protection if it is a sham. Also my experience in the Public Defender's office tells me that if the authorities visit the oubuilding they may find some probable cause to snoop in the main house. So, you're safer not to have this "roommate." On the other hand, if your lives are squeaky clean and you have nothing for the boys in blue to discover, the proposed agreement might help support a civil suit for damages if you did get searched on a pretext. Good luck.
