property line survey

I want to build a fence but my neighbors are encrouching on my property. how can i get a mesurement before i build a fence. i live in Long Beach californi

Just look in your local phone book for a registered land surveyor under the "Surveyors" heading in the Yellow Pages. A boundary-line survey in an urban area shouldn't cost too much, but if your neighbor is being cooperative and is also concerned about where the boundary line is, ask the neighbor to share the cost. If he does, he is more likely to believe it.
