Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
I put an offer to buy a property and i have presented all of my qualification documents, after three weeks of putting an offer and extension requested from the sellers agent, i was just told by my agent that my offer got rejected without any explanation! i tried to contact the sellers agent to get some answer, but he told me that he does not have to give any answer for rejection and also he refused to give me sellers contact information so i could hand deliver my offer. i need to know if this is legal of if this is normal practice?
thank you.

It is both legal and completely normal practice, other than maybe waiting so long to reject your offer. It sounds like they were waiting for a better offer and got one, but regardless of what happened you have no legal right to know anything about why they rejected your offer, unless it was based on illegal discrimination such as race or religion. If you suspect housing discrimination, contact a lawyer in person. Otherwise you have no right to anything but to move on and try to find another property to buy.
I agree with Mr. McCormick, although a seller is not supposed to reject an offer if the rejection is based on prohibited classifications such as race, ethnicity, religion, etc.
