Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Quit Claim from mom to daughter

Currently property is in a living trust but should mom do quit claim to daughter to avoid property being taken due to receiving Medi Cal and Medicare assistance? I believe there is a 36 month window period after transfer.

Re: Quit Claim from mom to daughter

Nothing angers me more than family members trying to stiff MediCal or MediCare when their parents receive medical benefits. Think of it this way, if everyone stiffs MediCal or MediCare, who's going to pay for the next person who needs it? Where do you think the money came from that paid for your mother? Obviously someone else paying back the system. Did they forfeit their inheritance so you could get yours?

Inheritance is a privilege, not a right. Go sit down in the Emergency Room some night and watch little kids get brought in. Guess who pays for their medical treatment? MediCal and MediCare!

Very truly yours,
