Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

to real estate attorney --- how much for filing court order to void previous rea

We would like to have a real estate attorney to help us in filing a court order to void our previous reassessment due to adding additional names to the title. All 3 names should be on title since day 1 but since only 1 person is "qualified" for loan application, therefore, only 1 person's name was on the title at the beginning. Later, after we bought the house, we added the other 2 names to the title and as a result caused the property tax to go up tremendously. We talked to the property transfer dept and they suggested us to have an attorney file a court order stating that all 3 people are owners of the property since the day we bought the house rather than the day it was recorded. Is there any real estate attorney who could help us by not charging a fee unless we win the case with fee taken out of the refund money later? If not, how much will it cost for a case like this?

Re: to real estate attorney --- how much for filing court order to void previous

I handle property tax assessment appeals and related

actions. Usually, only large commercial assessments

justify hiring a lawyer, because, after all, the tax rate

is only a little more than one percent of the value

of the property. However, if you want to consult with me,

I charge $190 per hour, and I would be happy to

help you if you're in Northern California.
