Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Real Estate Fraud /Forgery
My house in Torrance suffered a fire in 2014 which was not covered due to an insurance lapse.
I lost nearly everything
and moved out of state. Last year I was trying to sell the damaged house to a real estate adjuster and he advised me that his search of public records showed the house had just been sold and was being rehabbed!
He sent me the documents-someone had forged my signature (badly) on the title and collected the money. I could not afford an attorney as he advised due to my indigence, but I was referred to this site as place I could get compassionate help.
This is a good case that just requires I have my day in court. I am willing to pay from the settlement. Please Help! This was my family house.

Thieves target people without money for attorneys. You need a litigation firm like Advocate Legal, but unfortunately we don't work on contingency.
How far do you live from Torrance now, and how convenient would it be for you to make occasional one-to-three day trips back? Do you need to handle the case by "remote control?" My first reaction to reading your inquiry is that you should make telephonic appointments to visit with two or three local real-estate attorneys for a free initial consultation, and also present the facts to an investigator in the district attorney's office. Ten years ago, I would have been a candidate to take your case, but I'm now retired and living in Nevada (although still licensed).
