Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My real estate sales agent is being sued by another agent. Would this legal action against my agent affect the sales listing contract with me? Thanks.

I'd say it's possible. Have you seen a copy of the complaint, or do you know what the suit is about? One possibility is that the agents are sparring over which has the right to represent you in your future transaction, andthus to earn the commission. Perhaps you should have a frank discussion with your agent before matters progress. You can always go to the courthouse and look at the file, and if the suit is in L.A. or another large county, you can probably search on line and, for a small fee, download a copy of the complaint. Note that the L.A. Court is a bit behind in posting filed documents to their searchable on-line file.

It would depend entirely on what the suit was about.
