Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Real Estate transaction

Hello,

We submitted an offer on a San Diego REO foreclosure property in late Jan. Part of the acceptance of the offer was that we close before April 10th. As a pro active person all of my ducks were lined in a row and I prepared for an April 10th closing. In early April I found a tenant and they were to move into the property on May 27th, 6-7 weeks after the closing date.

Long story short - the tenants (She from Idaho and he coming back from Iraq) arrived May 28th with no place to stay. They will be moving into the property tonight. The loan funded this morning and we receive the keys this afternoon.

I have paid for their Motel 6 stay for the last 27 days.

Since it was stated to me by the listing agent that I have to close by April 10th can I go after the listing agent for the cost of the Motel 6 bill in the amount of @ $1500.00

I look forward to your email response or phone call.

Thanks,
