Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

real estate

i won a bid on a house, gave auction company $9700.00, got my loan. after 3 weeks i called the title comp. my money didn't get deposited with title comp. Title comp called auction comp., they said the owner didn't except my bid, they wanted me to go higher. I said no at this time I reguested my $9700.00 be mailed back to me. It has been 2 weeks. and no money, I have called 3x & get voice mail. I have not got any respond. My contact say, owner has 3 days, to sign the contact for the title, & deposit buyer $9700.00. I never heard anything, from the auction comp. They said they tried to reach me in those 3 days. That would have been 7/23, 7/24, 7/25, I was in my office from 9:00AM-5:30 PM, I also have caller ID on my home phone, there were no phone calls to me, I feel like I was wronged.

Re: real estate

Why did you wait a month?

This is beyond a real estate question. Assuming I read your facts correctly, you gave someone $9,700 for a "deal" which feel through. Your bid was rejected, and a month later you have not received a refund.

Don't call any more. By your zip code, I assume you live in Lodi. I don't know where the transaction took place, but you need to report this to your local police, or sheriff.

It sounds like you have been the victim of fraud.

If, by some chance, there is a legitimate auction company with your money, you should retain an attorney ASAP.

Good luck!
