Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

hello there, recently me and my boyfriend purchased a property in Kansas for $3448.00 from a group call Empower group real estate they are located in Orem, Utah. They told us that they will help us sell they property within a few months and give us 3 coaching session. For some reason i have a gut feeling that they are a scam because they told us the dates that they would charge us for they property every month. The thing is that they never charge on the dates that they say, and just when ever. Also on our second session they advised us to purchased another thing for the property but we denied it and told them that we were not interested. After that 2nd session they never called back for the 3rd session, plus when ever we call them they never get back to us as they said they would. Do you know if there is any thing i can do that can help me know if they are legit? Should i just call up my bank and tell them to not allow Empower group to keep taking money out in our account? Please i really need some advice, i would really appreciate it if you can help. Thank You

Sincerely,

Ms. Lee

Why are you buying property in Kansas from an outfit in Utah? You didn't give them your bank account number, did you? Probably this is a scam, and you need to close your bank account.

The best scams in the world are the ones in which the marks think they are part of the scam. That is the beauty of the Nigerian bank scam, they get your money, because you think you are getting some dead guy's money in a bank account.

You got scammed. I don't even have to telephone anyone in Orem, Utah. You so willingly joined the scam because you thought you were going to make a quick buck, selling the property in 3 months. Apparently, you did this from California, and do not even know if you own the property.

I suggest that you actually find out if you even bought the property that you claim to have purchased. I would suggest contacting the county in Kansas where the property is allegedly located to find this out. If you are not on title, with the public recorder's office in Kansas, then I say you got scammed.

What kind of property? Real estate? Do you even have a legal description? A deed? Maybe the property you bought doesn't exist. Does the selling broker have a Kansas license? Did you look at the property before you bought it? What county is it in? How many acres? How is the wheat crop looking this year? How many bushels per acre? Did you ask any questions? I think "Empower" is a synonym for "Demoney."

I cannot find any information indicating that Empower Group is a scam, though they do appear to have some dissatisfied customers. I recommend you immediately stop letting them draw from your account until they satisfy your concerns, prove you have received ownership of the property you supposedly bought, and live up to their contract.
