Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Removing fixtures when lease ended

We leased the warehouse for 4 years and built an

office inside it. When the lease end, can we take

the office door with us when we move out?

(Which leave the office that we built inside the

warehouse without the door). In another word, is

it legal for us to remove fixture that we, as a

tenant, install or put in at our own cost? Please

advise. Thank you so much in advance.

Re: Removing fixtures when lease ended

Unless otherwise agreed upon with a lessor, once a lessee has constructed some improvement which is permanently affixed to leased premises, it becomes part of the premises and is supposed to remain on the premises. If you have a written lease, I am sure it will state that somewhere in the agreement. In short, you should not remove it unless the lessor gives you permission.
